GUIDELINES FOR THE CONDUCT OF 2025/2026 STUDENT UNION GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS (INCLUDING INSTITUTES, DEPARTMENTS AND NAKSS).
We hereby present the guidelines for the conduct of the 2025/2026 Student Union Government Elections, Institutes, Departments and NAKSS.
The Elections is to take place on Wednesday 6th August, 2025 between 9am and 3pm.
I. GUIDELINES
Candidates are expected to satisfy the following requirements as guidelines for the election:
- ALL Elections will be Electronic Voting (Smart Voting System). Android Phones and Internet Gadgets can be used for the exercise.

Only registered students for 2024/2025 Academic Session are eligible to vote and be voted for.

Aspirants for the post of the President and the Speaker must possess CGPA of at least 3.00 in the last sessional examination result and should have a good command of English Language, while other posts attract CGPA of 2.75 minimum.

All Aspirants must present themselves to the screening committee constituted by the Directorate of Students’ Services (DSS).
II. NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF KWARA STATE STUDENT (NAKSS) ELECTION
For the National Association of Kwara State Students (NAKKS) Election, aspirants and voters MUST BE OF KWARA STATE ORIGIN
III. The Zoning for the 2025/2026 SUG Executives Officers as approved in the reviewed constitution is presented in the table below

NOTE:
- One Elective post should be reserved for the ND Students.
- Printed copies of the NOMINATION FORMS earlier completed online MUST be submitted to the Office of the Director of Students’ Services on the approved date as stated in the Election Time Table, The printed copies of the nomination form must be duly signed by the Head of Departments and Institute Directors
- Aspirants must be found worthy both in character and in learning.
- In the event of detection of false declaration, such candidate shall be disqualified.
- Late submission of forms will not be entertained.
