Mr Abdul-Hafis Amin

Amin Abdul-Hafis is a seasoned higher education administrator with over twenty-five years of progressive experience in academic and general administration within the Nigerian polytechnic system. He currently serves as the Acting Registrar of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, where he functions as the Chief Administrative Officer and Head of the Registry, providing strategic administrative leadership and ensuring effective governance support to the Rector and statutory bodies of the institution.

Mr. Abdul-Hafis holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelor of Science in Education (Biology) from the University of Ilorin, complemented by a Certificate in Computer Studies. He is an Associate Member of the Nigeria Institute of Management (Chartered) and a Senior Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Diplomacy and Management, reflecting his strong grounding in management, public administration, and institutional leadership.

Since joining Kwara State Polytechnic in 1998, he has risen through the administrative ranks, serving in critical capacities across the Registry, including Registrar’s Office, Council Affairs, Academic Affairs, Academic Board Matters, Project Division, and Academic Staff Establishment Division. His portfolio spans governance and council administration, academic board secretariat services, admissions and examinations oversight, staff establishment and promotions, pension and records management, convocation and matriculation coordination, and policy implementation.

In his current role as Acting Registrar, Mr. Abdul-Hafis serves as Secretary to the Governing Council, Academic Board, and other statutory committees, and is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Polytechnic, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks and the efficient delivery of administrative services.

He has participated in numerous national and institutional conferences, workshops, and professional development programmes focused on leadership, ICT-driven administration, data management, strategic transformation, public diplomacy, and organizational effectiveness. His research interests include recruitment and selection practices in tertiary institutions and challenges in science education.

Beyond his administrative duties, Mr. Abdul-Hafis has contributed actively to institutional and professional service, including leadership roles within staff associations, admissions committees, convocation committees, and professional bodies. He is a recipient of the Best Staff in the Registry Award of Excellence and is widely regarded for his integrity, diligence, and commitment to institutional development.

Mr. Abdul-Hafis brings to the office of the Registrar a wealth of experience, deep institutional knowledge, and a strong commitment to effective governance, academic excellence, and sustainable administrative reforms.
