Architect Tunde Karatu

PROFILE OF ARCHITECT TUNDE KARATU,

DIRECTOR, WORKS AND MAINTENANCE SERVICES,

KWARA STATE POLYTECHNIC, ILORIN

Architect Tunde Karatu was born on the 10th May 1974 in Ilorin, Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State.  He had his Secondary Education at Ansarul-Islam Secondary School, Marafa-Oja where he obtained his Senior School Certificate in 2001.

He proceeded to the premier Tertiary Institution in Kwara State (Kwara State Polytechnic) for his National Diploma and Higher National Diploma in Architecture in 1994 and 1997 respectively.

Given his passion for acquiring knowledge, Karatu applied for a post Graduate Degree in the Department of Architecture, Federal University of Technology, Akure in 2004 and he crowned it with a Master Degree in the same field from the same University in 2008.

Membership of Professional Body

Karatu, an accomplished architect, is a member of Architects Registration Council of Nigeria (ARCON) and Nigerian Association of Technologists in Engineering (NATE)

Architect Karatu has distinguished himself as a professional Architect by designing, constructing and supervising numerous projects during his days at Nigerite Limited, Lagos and National Iron Ore Mining Company, Itakpe, Kogi State between 1998 and 2005.

Karatu joined the service of the Polytechnic in 2005 as the Head of Physical Planning Unit, Works and Maintenances Services Department.  He has been coordinating the affairs of the unit and also assisted in designing and supervising the construction of the Institution’s Academic Conference Centre, Kwara State Polytechnic Auditorium and Institute of Technology Complex among others.

Architect Tunde Karatu is happily married with children.
