The Management of Kwara State polytechnic, Ilorin, has set up four different committees with a view to improve the welfare of both staff and students of the Polytechnic.
The committees according to the statement issued and signed by the Deputy Registrar (Establishment), Mr. Ahmed Abubakar usman, are committees on revival of IJMB, committee on Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) arrangement, commitee on resuscitation of CBT and committee on review of staff salary.
The committee on review of salary according to the statement is mandated to obtain the national current salary table for teaching and non-teaching staff, obtain 100% CONTEDISS table and compare it with what is obtainable in Kwara State Polytechnic as well as obtain salary table for other sister Polytechnics in neighboring States and make recommendations on how to enhance staff salary.
Furthermore, the committee on IJMB programme is to find out the immediate and remote causes of why the programme was cancelled in the Polytechnic and suggest modalities for reviving the programme.
The committees on resuscitation of CBT and BOT are to identify suitable hall, soft and hardware requirements for the conduct of Computer Based Test and study the Build, Operate and Transfer model for Kwara State University, Malete and Unilorin, as well as design a model for Kwarapoly from the two models for implementation in the Polytechnic.
The committees which have members drawn from teaching and non-teaching staff of the polytechnic have two to three weeks to submit thier reports.
